Job summary

Sunnyside Communities in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Life Enrichment Specialist/Memory Care Coordinator to design and lead meaningful, person-centered programs for Memory Support residents, with a focus on cognitive impairment. You will assess resident interests, collaborate with families and staff, and supervise activity staff.

This exempt, full-time role requires NCCAP certification or willingness to obtain, CPR/First Aid, and a strong hospitality mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience with aging and disability issues.
• NCCAP certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Training on Alzheimer's/dementias and dementia-specific programming.
• Strong communication, hospitality-minded, and organized.
• Experience supervising staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement life enrichment programs for Memory Support residents.
• Welcome new residents and learn their interests to tailor activities.
• Encourage participation across individual and group activities.
• Coordinate transportation, outings, and volunteer involvement.
• Manage program budgets and collaborate with other departments.
