Job summary

Water's Edge Assisted Living of Bradenton is seeking a full-time Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator to design and deliver engaging activities for residents with dementia, promoting well-being and social interaction.

You will work with care teams to tailor programs to individual plans, monitor responses, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment while fostering creativity and enthusiasm among residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreational therapy, preferably with seniors with dementia or cognitive limitations.
• Understanding of dementia and cognitive impairment care strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging seniors through diverse activities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire residents to participate in daily programs.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful attitude towards seniors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in recreational therapy or related fields are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents' cognitive abilities and interests.
• Foster a positive and stimulating environment through music, recreational therapy, and other creative engagement methods.
• Motivate and inspire residents to participate actively in daily activities, promoting socialization and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and resident needs.
• Monitor and document residents' responses to activities, adjusting approaches as necessary.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all residents during activities.
