Job summary

Howard County Government is seeking a part-time Support Aide for the Connections Social Day Program. You will assist with daily programming, food service, and administrative tasks, focusing on participants with cognitive impairment or memory loss.

Role requires an Associate's degree or related experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong interpersonal skills to work with older adults and caregivers. Office of Human Resources accommodations may be requested via email.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and/or one year related experience.
• Knowledgeable about cognitive impairment, including memory loss.
• Ability to work with the general public, especially adults with disabilities and their caregivers.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases and spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in virtual platforms and technology for human services delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe environment for individuals with cognitive impairment/memory loss.
• Provides supervision and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Supports food service and meal program operations.
• Supervises participants during transitions and activities.
• Develops and leads programs for older adults.
• Provides back-up coverage for other staff.
• Supports programs at the 50+ Center as needed.
