Job summary

Saber Healthcare Group in Virginia operates skilled nursing facilities and seeks a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to coordinate dementia care. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to implement cognitive wellness programming and support residents’ overall well-being.

The role offers full-time hours, Monday–Friday days, with pay based on licensure and experience, and reminders of CEUs, education opportunities, and career growth benefits within Saber’s supportive

Qualifications

• COTA preferred or alternative related degree acceptable.
• Dementia Practitioner preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Minimum of two years of experience in long-term care or memory care programming as a COTA or other related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for residents with dementia.
• Plan, organize, implement, and oversee specialized dementia programming aligned with cognitive wellness best practices.
• Support residents’ emotional, cognitive, physical and social well-being through structured, individualized programming.

Education

COTA preferred

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or related field

Position Summary:
The primary purpose of your job is to coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support for residents with dementia and/or dementia-related conditions. You will plan, organize, implement, and oversee specialized dementia programming that aligns with best practices in cognitive wellness. This position supports the overall goals of enhancing the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well-being of each resident through structured, individualized, and compassionate programming.
Education/Qualifications:

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) preferred. May consider Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or a related field.
• Current certification as a Dementia Practitioner preferred or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in long-term care or memory care programming as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or other discipline as noted above.
  

Shift & Wage:

• Full-Time Opportunity Available
• Shift Needed: Monday - Friday, Days
• Wage: Based on Licensure

• COTA: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
• OT: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour
