Job summary

Sunshine Retirement Living in Charleston, SC seeks a compassionate Asa Caregiver to provide person-centered care and assist residents with daily living activities, including memory care support. You will help maintain safety, dignity, and a supportive environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate politely and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with residents and staff
• Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player
• Excellent customer and organizational skills
• Willingness to train in dementia care practices (validation, redirection, and engagement strategies)

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, safety, and well-being of the residents and report changes
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating)
• Support residents with memory loss using patience and empathy
• Maintain a safe and happy environment for residents
• Promote engagement and dignity through individualized activities
• Respond to emergencies and document incidents per procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
