Job summary

Sunshine Retirement Living seeks a compassionate Caregiver to provide person-centered support in assisted living and memory care, helping residents with daily living tasks, monitoring health and safety, and responding to emergencies with calm professionalism.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid, state clearance, and prior senior living experience is preferred; training in dementia care is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of related experience and/or training.
• State certification as required by the state.
• Current and valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Meet state-related requirements if applicable.
• Previous senior living experience preferred.
• Must pass Sunshine’s and state-regulated background checks and TB clearance where applicable.
• Willingness to train in dementia care practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, safety, and well-being of residents.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to Health Services staff.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Provide patient, empathetic communication for residents with memory loss.
• Keep environment safe and pleasant; participate in activities.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and document actions.
