Job summary

Senior Living Residences in Canton, MA is seeking a Programming Assistant (Therapeutic Activities) to support the Program Director in creating, scheduling, and implementing therapeutic programs for memory care residents. The role involves forming relationships with residents and families and coordinating a seven-day activity schedule.

The position requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of experience with elderly or Alzheimer's populations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.

Responsibilities

• Form meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily therapeutic programming schedule for 7 days per week.
• Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors.
• Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site.
• Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff.
• Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media.
