Job summary

Gardens of North Olmstead is seeking a full-time Activity Assistant/Coordinator for the memory care unit. The role focuses on developing and coordinating a monthly program of events to engage residents with dementia and promote an active lifestyle.

You will recruit and supervise volunteers, train staff, and collaborate with marketing and community partners to plan outreach events, including one-to-one activities tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with dementia.
• Enthusiastic personality and ability to develop creative activities for residents.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs.
• Establishes and maintains contacts with community organizations and resources for program development.
• Recruits, plans and manages volunteer opportunities for the community.
• Manages, trains, and develops staff and volunteers.
• Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts.
• Works with marketing to plan community/resident events.
• Coordinates community outings to events and lectures for an active resident lifestyle.
• One-to-one activities to meet resident/client needs.
• Projects a positive image of the organization to residents, clients, co-workers, and the public.
