Gardens of North Olmstead is seeking a full-time Activity Assistant/Coordinator for the memory care unit. The role focuses on developing and coordinating a monthly program of events to engage residents with dementia and promote an active lifestyle.

You will recruit and supervise volunteers, train staff, and collaborate with marketing and community partners to plan outreach events, including one-to-one activities tailored to individual needs.

TheActivity Assistant/Coordinator will have experience working with individuals with dementia, have a highly enthusiastic personality, and be able to develop creative activities for our residents.

Responsibilities of Activity Assistant/Coordinator:

• Develops, maintains, and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs
• Establishes and maintains on-going contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations, and other useful resources for program development.
• Recruits plan and manage volunteer opportunities for the community
• Manages, trains, and develops staff and volunteers
• Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts
• Works with marketing to assist in the planning of community/resident events
• Coordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle
• One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs
• Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers, and the public

Qualifications of Activity Assistant/Coordinator:

• At least two years of related experience
• A college degree strongly preferred.
