Job summary

Atria Senior Living in Santa Clarita, CA seeks a Memory Care Activity Specialist to lead Life Guidance programs and plan engaging activities for residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of recreational therapy, and state certifications. Flexible shifts and teamwork with the Life Guidance staff are expected to support a thriving community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy or activity programming and its application to residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia.

Responsibilities

• Leads Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers diversified recreational activities with supervision.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in planning the daily program including activities of daily living.
• Plans individual birthday celebrations for each resident.
• Develops programs for residents including those confined to their rooms.
• Engages and motivates residents to participate in programs.
• Greets new residents to include and engage them with others.
• Plans parties and decorations for seasons/holidays and monthly birthdays.
• Supports census-building initiatives.
• Maintains records of activities and participation as required by state law.
• Assists in enlisting volunteers for activities.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Education
