Job summary

John Knox Village Limited is seeking a PRN Activity/Recreation Therapy associate to support the Memory Care Unit in Lee's Summit, MO. The role involves planning and delivering a variety of activity programs to meet residents' physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities include leading group and one-to-one activities, coordinating events, and ensuring safety and infection control practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college-level study preferred.
• Specialty certification in fitness or activity programs preferred.
• Experience with elderly populations preferred.
• Driver’s license required if driving responsibilities exist (Class E or CDL).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and execute activities/events for residents.
• Develop new programs to expand participation.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are available for programs.
• Transport residents to activity functions.
• Lead group activities and one-to-one visits.
• Monitor participation and maintain records.
• Use computer tech to show movies or search class information.
• Maintain a warm, calm atmosphere and promote resident well-being.
• Follow infection control practices.
• Organize special outings and decorate for events.
