Job summary

Priority Life Care, LLC is seeking a Memory Care Activities Assistant in Topeka, KS. You will coordinate, develop, execute, and maintain quality activity programs for residents of the Memory Care unit, with training in dementia management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care or related service industries.
• Experience working with dementia and memory care is a plus.
• Clean driving record and ability to drive a large resident vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Promotes self-esteem and social interaction of residents and encourages participation in activities.
• Observes, analyzes, and records residents' participation during activities.
• Orders needed supplies and tracks inventory.
• Provides bedside activities for residents unable to attend regularly scheduled activities.
• Identifies adaptive devices for residents with sensory deficits.
• Updates calendars and posts a monthly activity calendar.
• Drives the community van/bus as needed.
• Reports concerns to Memory Care Program Coordinator.
• Attends required training and certification programs.
• Complies with health care and safety standards.
• Promotes and exemplifies Priority Life Care mission and values.
