Job summary

The North Dakota CPA Society (NDCPAS) is seeking a Member Relationship Manager who will drive membership growth, engagement, and retention. You will build strong relationships with members, firms, educators, and vendors, and manage key programs while supporting the society's strategic plan.

  • Impeccable integrity and strong stewardship of resources.
  • Periodic travel required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Love building relationships, solving problems, and bringing big ideas to life? The North Dakota CPA Society (NDCPAS) is looking for a Member Relationship Manager who is passionate about people and energized by meaningful connections.

The Member Relationship Manager supports the Society’s membership growth, engagement, and retention goals by building and managing strong relationships with individual members, firms, companies, educators, and vendors. This role owns key membership programs, oversees external vendor and affinity relationships, and implements targeted recruitment and retention strategies to ensure members receive maximum value from their affiliation with NDCPAS. Collaborating with other staff, this role advances engagement, innovation, and long-term growth in support of the Society’s strategic plan.

Relationship Building
  • Lead relationship management for memberships and firm administrators, ensuring a seamless and relationship-driven approach to recruitment, renewal, and retention.
  • Cultivate relationships with university and high school educators to promote the profession to the next generation.
  • Foster key external relationships with partners vendors and affinity programs to ensure alignment with revenue goals while identifying opportunities for growth and enhancement.
Lead Membership Recruitment, Renewal & Retention Strategy
  • Develop and execute targeted retention strategies focused on at-risk member segments to strengthen engagement and reduce attrition.
  • Implement recruitment campaigns in alignment with strategic plan goals.
  • Achieve membership budget goals for new member recruitment, renewals, and retention by implementing data-driven strategies that support sustainable revenue growth.
Engagement & Communication
  • Design and oversee a consistent onboarding experience that introduces new members to benefits, involvement opportunities, and professional networks.
  • Lead communication strategies for membership renewals and prospective member outreach, ensuring timely, targeted messaging that clearly communicates member value.
  • Produce a bi-monthly member newsletter including finding useful content and advertisers
  • Provide strategic leadership for various member committees and collaborate with volunteers
Data, Reporting & Strategic Support
  • Inputs and reconciles daily deposits.
  • Own the individual membership budget, both revenue and expenses, for retention and recruitment efforts.
  • Monitor and report on key membership metrics, preparing data for Board meetings.
  • Use membership data to evaluate recruitment and retention efforts, adjusting strategies to align with the Society’s strategic plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Our Office

The Society is a state association for Certified Public Accountants with approximately 1,600 members. Based in Grand Forks, the office is statewide in scope. We provide a pleasant work environment and good equipment. We are a small, creative and effective staff!
