Job summary

The YMCA of Silicon Valley is seeking a Membership Director in Palo Alto to lead membership sales, onboarding, retention, and engagement. You will foster relationships with members, staff, and the community, and represent the Y in local events to promote membership initiatives.

The role emphasizes recruiting and developing a strong Member Engagement team, driving enrollment in programs, and supporting ongoing member retention and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 3 years of supervisory experience in customer service, wellness or similar field.
• Prior experience in sales preferably membership sales.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, members, and participants.
• Ability to multi-task and make sound independent judgments.

Responsibilities

• Implements membership strategies to recruit and retain members.
• Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, and directs Membership Sales staff.
• Promotes program and membership enrollment and supports Program Directors.
• Organizes membership events and represents the YMCA at community events.
• Participates in the annual campaign.
• Leads staff meetings and attends trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
