Job summary

WESTconsin Credit Union is seeking a collections specialist to support members and protect credit union assets in Wisconsin. You’ll analyze accounts, negotiate arrangements, and coordinate with legal partners to resolve delinquent loans and charged-off accounts.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and prior experience in financial services or collections. Associate degree and 2 years of related experience are preferred, with comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• 2 years of related work experience preferred.
• Prior experience in financial/collections field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contacts and follows up with members and arranges appropriate action for resolution of accounts not in good standing.
• Monitors accounts, applies payments, negotiates pay arrangements, and makes recommendations for loan rewrites.
• Gathers and assesses information about member financial history and credit history.
• Discusses options with members such as deferral, loan modifications, and forbearance.
• Communicates effectively with members, employees and external contacts.
