Job summary

Virginia Farm Bureau in Yorktown, VA is seeking a Member Service Specialist to support county operations through insurance processing, service and sales assistance. The role includes training toward a Sr. Member Service Specialist within three years and requires strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities cover processing inquiries, quoting policies, maintaining records, facilitating meetings, and supporting agents. The position is on-site with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must obtain P&C and L&H licenses within four months of employment.
• Ability to attend required training classes and meetings (some overnight travel).
• Technically proficient in MS Office and in-house systems.
• Effective verbal and written communications.
• High degree of organization; team player.
• Ability to multi task and handle interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Process insurance business tasks: answer inquiries via phone/email/in person, process payments, prepare certificates and binders.
• Quote home/auto, process new business, promote cross selling, set appointments for agents.
• Promote Healthcare offerings and collect referral information.
• Maintain County Farm Bureau records, files, and financial accounting.
• Administer membership renewal and data in the membership system; maintain paid listings.
• Assist in planning county board meetings; record minutes and maintain minutes books.
• Communicate with County President and Directors on membership issues.
• Open/close office; maintain office supplies.
• Operate all software and office equipment used by County Farm Bureau and Insurance Company.
