Job Summary:

The Member Service Representative is responsible for facilitating member relationships, prompt, knowledgeable service, and matching members with the appropriate resources for their needs. The successful candidate will build and sustain member relationships, deliver exceptional service, and disseminate information regarding institutional offerings.

Essential Functions:

• Cross sell Credit Union products and services
• Continuously exceed expectations for service guidelines and sales goals.
• Explain Credit Union products and services to new and existing members.
• Open all types of accounts including savings, checking, Certificates of Deposit, and IRA’s; process transactions on data processing system.
• Interview applicants for Consumer Loan applications. Process loans on data processing system.
• Respond to member complaints and problems; answer phones and conduct appropriate research to resolve member inquiries.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
• Regular attendance required
• Maintains knowledge of all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations including but not limited to: the Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Savings, Truth In Lending, Privacy of Consumer Financial Information Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity and Fair Housing Acts. Consistently applies all related Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Community Involvement – represent Credit Union community events annually.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Personal Characteristics:

Position requires planning and organizational ability, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stressful situations and multiple priorities in a professional manner.

Requires learning and comprehension ability.

High energy level, good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Minimum one year experience as Retail Service Representative; banking or credit union preferred

Basic PC Skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent: Walking, Reaching, Stooping, Crouching
