Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union in Folsom, California, seeks a Member Service Specialist III to join the branch team. This non-exempt position reports to the Branch Manager and offers opportunities for career growth through internal development and training.

You will handle deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other transactions, while identifying member needs and offering Golden 1 solutions. Mentoring and leadership development are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of prior banking or customer relationship experience preferred.
• 1+ years as MSS II or teller at Golden 1 or another financial institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes and audits financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
• Provides Golden 1 services to member, including cashier’s checks, money orders, savings bonds, wire transfers and debit card issuance.
• Assesses members needs while processing transactions.
• Identifies opportunities to help members relative to Golden 1 product or service offerings and documents in EnAct system.
• Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to management and Financial Investigations dept., following procedures to prevent loss.
• Assists in operation of ATM and Teller Cash Dispenser Units; duties include replacing receipt cartridges and clearing blockages.
• May lead open/close responsibilities in MSSI/II absence.
• Verifies signature cards in ECM; approves checks within limits.
• Maintains confidentiality of member and credit union information.
• Keeps up-to-date on Golden 1 products, services, policies and teller procedures.
• Performs other branch operations tasks (TCR, SBO, Safe deposit box) as needed.
• Opens deposit and specialty accounts (e.g., Roth IRA) and identifies financial service needs to provide solutions.
• Mentors MSSIs and MSSIs; develops coaching and leadership skills.
• Engages in consultative dialogue with members to identify current and future needs and documents in EnAct.
• Enrolls members in channels (online, mobile, etc.).
• Refer home lending/investment needs to appropriate partners via EnAct referrals.
• Processes consumer loan applications and completes loan fulfillment when appropriate.
• Approves signature cards; audits loan reports and provides coaching to avoid errors.
• Provides approvals based on authorized limits as assigned by Branch Manager.
• Notarizes member documents (e.g., certification of trust).
• Collects medallion stamp request information and forwards for approval.
• Maintains knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to compliance.
