Job summary

Fulcrum is building an AI platform to automate insurance broker workflows. We seek a Member of Technical Staff who will develop core AI products, from parsing large PDFs to browser automation, with end-to-end ownership from MVP to scaling.

You will ship features across frontend and backend, write maintainable code with tests, and optimize performance while balancing user needs and business goals. This role requires 4+ years of experience and SF on-site work.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Member of Technical Staff to help reshape how the insurance broking industry services insurance. As a Product Engineer at Fulcrum, you’ll build and enhance our core AI products — from processing hundreds of very long PDFs and Excel files to building deep browser automations into legacy systems, and building a scalable platform to support the volume and throughput of our system. You will be responsible for both the 0→1 MVP development and the 1→10 growth and scaling of a product. You’ll work directly on features that help insurance brokers better serve their customers while improving margins.

What You’ll Do

• Develop complete features across both frontend and backend layers of our application.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with appropriate test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the technology stack.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Own both product manager and software engineer responsibilities.
• Balance technical considerations with user needs and business goals.
• Incorporate customer feedback into product and features.

What You’ll Bring
