Job summary

Jefferson Parish Employees FCU is hiring a Member Service Representative to act as a primary liaison between members and the Credit Union, delivering exceptional service and assisting with account inquiries and daily financial needs.

The role covers in-person and telephone support, routine transactions, new account openings, and adherence to policies, with a focus on accuracy and professionalism in all member interactions.

Qualifications

• Professional interpersonal skills for servicing members and projecting a positive image.
• Knowledge of Credit Union products and policies; Symitar Episys Core System is preferred.
• Education up to high school equivalent with related experience in member service or teller roles.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Credit Union to members in a courteous, professional manner and provide accurate service for transactions.
• Process routine transactions: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, in-person, night drop, mail, transfers; issue temporary checks and debit cards; open accounts; service CDs & IRAs.
• Provide information about Credit Union services or policies in person or by phone.
• Respond to member requests or complaints and direct to the right person for assistance.
• Open new accounts and service existing ones; set up new account files and provide necessary information.
• Handle transfer requests, loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, and other member service tasks.
• Conduct orientation interviews on Credit Union services with new members.
• Issue and balance money orders, travelers checks, and Credit Union checks; manage activity reporting and remittance.
