Job summary

Alabama Central Credit Union in Birmingham is seeking a friendly teller to assist members with financial transactions in the lobby, drive-thru, or by phone. You will provide confidential, professional service and help members with their banking needs.

The role involves cash handling, balancing drawers, addressing inquiries, processing deposits and loan payments, and helping the branch meet sales and service goals while complying with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Courteous, tactful and diplomatic in interactions.
• Ability to perform cash handling, math, and operate office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates efficiency with financial transactions for checking, savings, and borrowing members: receives funds, post transactions, and pays out funds as requested.
• Balances cash drawer daily to assure accuracy in transactions and notifies supervisor regarding any outages.
• Research and resolve member and internal inquiries regarding services and products.
• Receives deposits and loan payments from members, addresses inquiries on accounts, validates checks and/or counts cash payments.
• Responsible for meeting sales and service goals set by management.
• Assist other departments and branches with transactions as needed and provides support for the branch in fulfilling member requests and merchant verifications.
• Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
