Job summary

WIN Energy REMC is seeking a friendly, dependable Member Service Representative to join our team. This role serves as a primary contact for members and focuses on delivering professional service.

The ideal candidate will help with account questions, payments, service requests, and promoting cooperative programs, while maintaining accurate records and a professional, member-focused approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Experience in the utility or electric cooperative industry is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional, courteous, and member-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and work within multiple software systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist members by telephone and in person with account questions, service requests, payments, and other needs.
• Process applications for membership and service orders, including new connections, disconnections, reconnections, transfers, voltage concerns, and security lights.
• Address member questions and concerns professionally and work toward timely, effective resolutions.
• Accurately post payments, process returned checks, and handle energy assistance and trustee pledges.
• Balance a daily cash drawer and prepare bank deposits.
• Follow established collection procedures for unpaid and final bills.
• Process rebate forms and capital credit documentation.
• Enter outage information and maintain accurate member records.
• Promote WIN Energy REMC programs and services.
• Represent the cooperative positively at the Annual Meeting and other company events.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the cooperative and its members.
