Job summary

Apple Federal Credit Union is seeking a diligent Member Service Representative I for our Government Center location in Fairfax, VA. You will handle in-person and remote member interactions, process deposits and withdrawals, and provide product information with a customer-focused approach.

The role emphasizes accuracy, courteous service, and adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act as well as cross-selling opportunities. Successful candidates show strong math skills and proficient use of banking systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months financial institution or cash handling experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent interpersonal and member/customer service skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and cross-sell credit union products and services.
• Excellent math ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic inquiry on loan applications in process.
• Proficient in Symitar and Synapsys MRM.

Responsibilities

• Represent the credit union to the member in person, by mail or by telephone in a courteous, professional manner; process deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
• Receive loan payments, checks and cash for deposit; verify amounts and input data into the system.
• Provide basic information on Loans and Shares products and existing accounts as needed.
• Contact members regarding deposits, loans and other products as directed by management.
• Input comments and records of member activity in the Synapsys MRM.
• Follow Apple FCU policies and security procedures; complete required training.
• Cross-sell credit union products as directed; act on PSOs and refer members accordingly.
• Balance cash to daily cash received vouchers.
