Job summary

Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC) is hiring a customer service representative at our Arrington facility. You will handle inbound/outbound calls, in-person and email inquiries, and process service requests with accurate cash handling and billing updates.

The role requires strong communication skills, a high school diploma, and office software proficiency. Salary is hourly with benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k); hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of general office experience including customer contact; accounting and cashiering experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Computer application skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member inquiries by phone, in-person or email following workflows.
• Maintain phone performance metrics to meet department goals.
• Ensure accurate information delivery and courteous interactions.
• Process service requests using established procedures and maintain billing/info systems.
• Perform cashiering activities, including cash handling and balancing.
• Execute various member account transactions and collect payments.
• Resolve revenue recovery issues and document them accordingly.
• Collaborate with teammates across CVEC and other departments.
• Assist with training as necessary.
