Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time Membership Services staff member to provide friendly service and information to current and prospective members at the Houston location. You'll process memberships, enroll new members, and assist with classes and programs.

The role emphasizes customer service, problem solving, and teamwork. You will work in a fast-paced front desk environment, uphold the YMCA values, and support member retention and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA values and serves members and guests.
• Answers inquiries and provides information on membership and programs.
• Provides prompt and courteous service to members and guests.
• Enrolls new members and processes membership applications.
• Registers members in classes and programs.
• Tours facility and sells memberships.
• Implements Membership Department procedures and ensures policy compliance.
• Reports suspicious or inappropriate behavior and policy violations.
