Job summary

The West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA seeks a Membership Coordinator to be a welcoming ambassador, driving member retention and recruitment, coordinating events, and delivering five-star customer service.

You will support outreach, welcome center operations, and DEIB initiatives, while maintaining membership records, handling inquiries, and collaborating with staff to create value for members and the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or coursework in education, business, communications, or related field is a plus.
• Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
• Commitment to support DEIB efforts.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and build relationships.
• Strong project management skills and deadline-driven teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Implement membership strategies to recruit and retain members.
• Plan and manage outreach, appreciation and events.
• Maintain accurate membership records and process applications, renewals, and terminations.
• Ensure data in member records is accurate; use SGA Pulse.
• Provide five-star customer service and handle confidential information appropriately.
• Support welcome center operations and assist with scheduling for events.
