YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit in Downriver/Southgate, MI is hiring a Member Experience Director. You will lead member services, retention, and program growth to deliver exceptional service and a welcoming environment for all members and guests.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment, training, budgeting, and collaboration with program and marketing teams to support branch goals and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience in business/customer service.
• Self-directed, innovative and creative with strong problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, interviews, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
• Manage membership sales, renewals, and guest services to drive growth.
• Develop annual membership growth and retention plans with daily/weekly targets.
• Lead Welcome Center operations and staff training for high-quality service.
• Coordinate programs, events, and marketing efforts to maximize enrollment.
