Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a part-time Center Operations - Manager on Duty (MOD) to lead front-line services, support the branch leadership, and ensure high-quality member experiences.

Strong emphasis on safety, customer service, and smooth operation during shifts; CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 30 days of hire. The MOD collaborates with membership and wellness teams and represents the YMCA at events.

Qualifications

• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff direction to enhance member services and ensure safety policies.
• Assist welcome center at high-volume times to manage flow and retention.
• Oversee cleanliness and respond to maintenance issues; conduct hourly checks.
• Interact with Membership and Wellness teams to perform shift duties.
• Interviews/tours prospective members; sell memberships; build relationships.
• Handle incidents professionally; complete paperwork and notify Center Director if EMTs are called.
• Address member concerns with appropriate follow-up and logs.
• Follow YMCA procedures and policies; communicate with management.
