Job summary

ARE-ON is seeking a dedicated Relationship Manager to serve as the primary liaison with IT departments, research offices, and members. You will align member goals with ARE-ON investments and surface cross-member opportunities, while leading onboarding and the full engagement program.

You will build senior-level relationships, manage education on ARE-ON services, and drive attendance at in-person conferences and online seminars, with 25–50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• At least four years of experience building and managing relationships with senior leadership.
• Must reside in Arkansas.
• Ability to operate in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on day one.
• Criminal, MVR, and Sex Offender Registry checks required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ARE-ON's primary relationship-builder with IT departments, research offices, and users.

• Build professional relationships with senior leadership across organizations.
• Travel in-state to member campuses for relationship-building (25%–50% of time).
• Report to the Executive Director.
• Work as an individual contributor with no direct reports.

• • Identify how members' institutional strategy and technology goals should inform ARE-ON's investment in services and capabilities
• • Surface shared investment and partnership opportunities across the membership
• • Facilitate member education on ARE-ON's services and benefits
• • Lead onboarding for new member institutions
• • Own ARE-ON's total engagement strategy, including in-person conferences, meetings, online seminars, and working groups

• • Track applied engagement work carried out across technical and support teams in response to member needs
• • Build professional relationships with senior leadership and decision-makers across multiple organizations
• • Travel in-state to ARE-ON member campuses for in-person relationship building and initiative development, estimated at 25% to 50% of working time
• • Report to the Executive Director
• • Work as an individual contributor with no direct reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least four years of experience building and managing professional relationships with senior leadership or decision-makers across multiple organizations, departments, or business units
• Demonstrated experience operating in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, coordinating across functions or organizational boundaries
• Successful candidate must reside within the state of Arkansas
• Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
• Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships
• Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
• Criminal background check required

• Sex Offender Registry check required
