Wieland is hiring a Melter/Caster. The Melter/Caster will be responsible for performing various semi-skilled functions to support Casting operations. Assembles, rebuilds, sets-up, maintains, and operates equipment designed to produce copper tubing using continuous casting technology. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $19.86

Schedule: 2-2-3 schedule A Team

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities

Melter/Caster Responsibilities:

• Performs all applicable SOPs, JSAs, and QAPs associated with assigned job title.
• Assembles, rebuilds, sets-up, maintains, and operates equipment used in the continuous casting process for copper tubing production.
• Operation and handling of melting/holding furnaces.
• Handling and work of any kind of refractory including castables and ramming mixtures.
• Support activity includes production, tool changes, quality checks, production PMs, reline tasks, and keeping work area clean.
• Handling, charging, and melting of copper.
• Handling of copper cathodes, chops, and plant scrap.
• Requires ability to perform quality checks including visual checks, measurements with ID, OD, and wall micrometers, calculation of tube eccentricity out of performed wall checks.
• Operation of all kinds of machinery/tools including, but not limited to crane, forklift, and jack hammers.
• Ability to operate machinery and manage data in systems such as WFS and Excel.
