How you'll help us connect the world

In this role, you will be a teammate in a functional tool room participating in the Root Cause Corrective Action process when necessary. You will make intricate tools for producing specific shapes or removing material. You will work to extremely close tolerances where construction of tools requires mating surfaces, usually less than .0005 inches. You will be responsible for planning, laying out, and following the job through to completion with minimal supervision, completing jobs within the general tolerances of the metal trades industry in relation to quality and time.

1. Plan, lay out, and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, and repair tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, etc., where a high degree of skill and extensive knowledge of tooling practice and application are required. Work from complicated drawings and specifications, using a wide variety of precision instruments for exact measurements.
2. Perform complex machining operations requiring complicated set-ups involving improvising tooling and machines for adaptations beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment.
3. Perform close and exacting bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble, and finish work.
4. May do development and experimental work, select allowances and materials, and proceed from own conception in the absence of design and specifications.
5. Assign work and instruct other tool room personnel. May serve as lead on projects, working closely with designers and engineers.
6. Establish and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program. Participate in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes.

Work Hours and Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts (4 days)

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferably Esprit
• Experience as a CNC Machinist operating a 3- and 4-axis mill or lathe
• Wire and Sinker EDM experience
• You Will Excite Us If You Have:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience & education
• Associate's Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, or related fields
