Job summary

UKG is seeking an entry-level Melt role in Neenah, WI. The job involves working in a loud, warm production environment with exposure to molten metal, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces. Cross-training across production tasks is available.

Basic math, reading and following instructions are essential. You will operate cranes, bobcats and forklifts, weigh metals, and assist with furnace operations, while maintaining a safe and efficient work area.

Qualifications

• Basic math and calculator skills are highly desirable.
• Must be able to read and follow work instructions.
• Must be able to work in a loud, warm, physically demanding environment.
• Able to operate heavy equipment including crane, bobcat and forklift.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to monitor furnace conditions.
• Accurately take readings and plot chemistry adjustments.
• Make refractory repairs to cupola, ladles and furnaces.
• Operate yard crane and weigh charge metals into the weigh hopper.
• Load and unload rail cars and move materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of production area and yard.
• Receive and process scrap and ensure orderly yard.
• Shift-specific duties and overtime as production requires.
