Job summary

GIW Industries, Inc. (A KSB Company) is hiring a Foundry Employee Level 1 – Melting. The role reports to the Foundry Supervisor and involves wearing PPE, following safety guidelines, and maintaining a clean, safe area. You will set up and sand molds, inspect with a borescope, operate cranes and forklifts, and comply with SOPs.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, physical ability to perform lifting and climbing, and flexibility to work varied shifts. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Must read and understand work instructions.
  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Follow GIW Safety guidelines and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Wear all PPE required.
  • Follow GIW Safety guidelines.
  • Keep area neat, clean and safe.
  • Secure and rope off pouring floor prior to pouring.
  • Work any scheduled hours.
  • Follow and understand work instructions.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Follow and understand SOPs.
  • Set up and sand molds.
  • Bolt up closed molds and understand bolting requirements.
  • Inspect molds with a borescope camera.
  • Set and pull mold weights.
  • Understand and verify riser height.
  • Operate overhead crane, skid steer, forklift, and dump trucks.
  • Document inspection forms for cranes, forklifts, man lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Patch ladles.
  • Perform slagging off ladles during pouring.
  • Follow instructions from team leads and supervisor.
