Job summary

Spinor Energy in Mountain View, CA is hiring Electrical Engineers to own the megawatt-class power electronics at the heart of our SMES system. You will design bidirectional power-conversion systems and lead bring-up from schematic to field deployment.

You will work across superconducting materials, cryogenics, vacuum, firmware, and controls engineering to turn complex requirements into reliable hardware. The ideal candidate has hands-on product experience and a passion for translating theory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, analyzing, building, testing, or manufacturing electrical or electromechanical hardware.
• Experience taking hardware from schematic to bring-up, validation, and field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architect bidirectional, MW-class power-conversion systems.
• Evaluate topologies and select switching devices, magnetics, capacitors, sensors, and protection components.
• Design high-voltage power stages, gate drives, sensing interfaces, grounding, and supporting electronics.
• Develop fault detection, quench protection, interlocks, safe-state behavior, and supervisory control.
• Build electrical test infrastructure and instrumentation.
• Lead board and system bring-up, debugging, characterization, and design iteration.
• Integrate across magnet, cryogenic, vacuum, mechanical, firmware, and controls engineering.
• Take systems from a blank schematic to reliable operation in the field.
