Job summary

NeuroBionics is hiring a Manufacturing Operations Manager to run the day-to-day manufacturing engine, own execution, inspections, inventory, and critical vendor purchasing. This on-site role is based in Cambridge/Somerville, MA and will involve leading 1–2 operators while collaborating closely with CEO, CTO, and quality teams.

The role thrives in the “messy middle” between engineering intent and real output, introducing lightweight systems and cadence to keep work moving and to unblock

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operations/manufacturing in medtech or a closely regulated hardware environment.
• Track record of moving fast under constraint — hitting aggressive timelines and driving cross-functional work to closure.
• Hands-on experience owning in-process and final inspection end-to-end and process optimization in a hardware/manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated experience taking at least one product from development into production (or an equivalent production ramp).
• Strong working knowledge of inventory control and vendor/purchasing management for manufacturing inputs in a hardware setting.
• Comfortable being the close-to-the-floor lead for a small operation (1-2 direct reports).
• High attention to detail and disciplined execution (revisions, parts, traceability basics).

Responsibilities

• Run manufacturing execution and labor planning with a weekly build plan and daily cadence.
• Lead and develop a small team of manufacturing operators: staffing, onboarding, training, schedules.
• Partner with Engineering and Quality to follow revs, specs, and release criteria.
• Run in-process and final inspection end-to-end with the quality system.
• Drive continuous improvement: reduce yield loss, cycle times, and variation with standard work and 5S.
• Manage inventory and purchasing for critical build vendors, including POs and delivery tracking.
• Coordinate with Business Ops on procurement and vendor/SOW management.
• Own relationships with critical vendors, tracking milestones and cost control.
• Own shipping, receiving, and fulfillment with early order-to-ship workflow.
• Build lightweight dashboards and rituals to visualize throughput, shortages, and vendor status.
• Push for standard work, checklists, and reduced rework.
