Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking Engineering Development Co-Ops for San Lorenzo and Manatí, PR. The program runs January–December 2027, full-time (40 hours/week) with 4 vacancies.

Co-ops will support engineering teams on design, prototyping, testing, and documentation, gaining hands-on experience in product development and manufacturing environments. Applicants must be full-time students in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering with a 2.8+ GPA, CAD

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be enrolled as a full‑time student throughout the duration of the Co‑Op assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineers with design, prototyping, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Supporting CAD modeling and implementing simple design updates under guidance.
• Conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and summarizing results for engineering teams.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, engineering drawings, and test reports.
• Supporting manufacturing, laboratory, or shop floor activities as needed.
• Participating in team meetings and presenting project progress and findings.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support engineering initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
