Job summary

MassChallenge is seeking a Medtech Executive in Residence (EIR) to support the Breakthrough Bio medtech track. As the EIR, you will mentor startups on FDA device pathways, reimbursement strategies, hospital procurement, and clinical champion development.

The role is hybrid, based in Boston, MA, with travel to engage with cohort startups across the U.S. The engagement runs October 2026 through July 2027, with an approximate 5–8 hours/week commitment.

Qualifications

• Medtech expertise with devices, diagnostics, or related health tech.
• Strong network with medtech corporates, providers, payers, and investors.
• Proven mentorship experience with early-stage startups.
• Commitment to supporting founders in clinical and regulatory milestones.
• Operational knowledge of FDA device pathways and reimbursement processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship on pilot/POC design, regulatory strategy, and payer engagement.
• Engage with medtech corporates, providers, payers, and investors to support cohort startups.
• Contribute to curriculum and hospital procurement strategy for Breakthrough Bio medtech track.
• Rally network contacts to attend and engage with startups at key program events.
• Support startups in achieving milestones and regulatory readiness.
