Job summary

Thrivemore seeks a Medication Technician to provide person-centered care and safely administer medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. You will document care, assist with daily living activities, and promote resident dignity and safety within a supportive environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, NC 24-hour Medication Aide training, active Medication Aide Registry, and CPR certification. Experience in long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completed 24-hour Medication Aide program approved by NC Board of Nursing.
• Active on NC Medication Aide Registry.
• Current CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments with accurate documentation.
• Assist with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Maintain safe medication carts and storage areas, report discrepancies.
• Record vital signs and report health or behavior changes.
• Assist with meals and safe dining experiences.
• Support participation in activities and recreation.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions; maintain safety.
• Uphold resident rights and confidentiality.
• Use proper body mechanics and equipment for transfers.
• Maintain timely documentation in resident records and logs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Participate in care planning, meetings, training.
• Assist with light housekeeping and resident environment.
• Comply with policies, HIPAA, and codes of conduct; report concerns.
• Position designated as essential; may report on-site during emergencies.
