Job description

Medium Voltage Production Operator - Assembler - 2nd shift

Your role and responsibilities
  1. Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
  2. Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
  3. Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  4. Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  5. Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
  6. Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
  7. Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  9. Overtime is required.
Qualifications for the role
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measure, screwdriver, battery-operated tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of hardware arrangements—nuts, bolts, screws, etc.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles—sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain.
  • Knowledge and use of necessary PPE.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specs, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to use cranes or other lifting devices as needed.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Ability to safely use ladders as required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to follow simple or basic instructions using common sense.
  • Basic computer skills for looking up parts based on bill of materials.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Must have valid work authorization for employment in the US.
