Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, TN) seeks an experienced registered nurse for the Medicine Stepdown unit. You will apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care for adults, communicate with the health care team, and educate patients and families as part of continuum care.

The role is a full-time day shift (7:00am–7:00pm), 36 hours per week, with weekend requirements and a focus on teamwork and flexible patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be an RN with current license and state certification as required.
• Strong ability to plan, educate, assess and evaluate patient care.
• Proficiency in applying evidence-based nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care and coordinates patient care across the team.
• Analyzes patient information to determine nursing diagnoses and actions.
• Monitors progress and adjusts care to meet goals and safe outcomes.
• Promotes health and a safe environment for patients and families.
• Performs other duties as assigned within nursing scope.
