Job summary

Prestige Senior Living Laurelhurst House in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Medication Technician to provide medication services and direct resident care. You will assist residents with daily living tasks, support a safe and dignified environment, and coordinate with the health services team to follow physician orders and state regulations.

The role requires at least one year of personal care experience, a valid medication pass certification, CPR, First Aid, and state-required trainings.

Qualifications

• One or more years of personal care experience with older adults preferred or as required by state regulations.
• Must hold state required medication pass certification or other required certification.
• Must complete state required delegation and/or training requirements.
• Must have word processing skills.
• Must have current CPR certification.
• First Aid training and Food Handlers permit as required by state regulations.
• Must complete all state required trainings as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of the medication room and services per orders and state regulations.
• Process physician medication and treatment orders in accordance with regulations.
• Administer and assist with the self-administration of medications per orders.
• Maintain accurate records of medication and treatment services provided.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for medication orders and refills.
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, residents and families about medication and care Services.
• Assist with or provide care services as directed by the resident’s cooperative service plan.
• Store medications and keep the medication room clean and orderly.
