Job summary

Lakeview Personal Care in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medication Aide to assist licensed nursing staff by administering daily medications as ordered, under supervision, and in accordance with state requirements and facility policies.

You will observe for adverse drug reactions, document administration, perform dose calculations and stock medications, while following care plans and safety procedures to protect residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Medication aide certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year health care industry experience or 2 years' experience as medication aide.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily medications to residents under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Observe for adverse drug reactions and report problems to the nurse.
• Record medication administration according to policies.
• Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications.
• Observe residents for changes and document changes in their condition.
• Perform tasks with medication administration including vital signs, dose calculations, stocking of carts, and removal of discontinued medications.
• Practice safe handling and storage of medications.
