Job summary

NuCare Senior Living in California is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to safely administer prescribed medications under physician orders and nursing oversight, while maintaining accurate records and respecting resident rights.

You will also assist with ADLs, support hydration and nutrition, monitor resident responses, communicate with the care team, and ensure regulatory compliance and proper medication storage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medication Aide/Medication Technician certification or completion of state-approved training.
• Experience in senior living or related settings preferred.
• Knowledge of medication procedures, documentation, and resident rights.
• Ability to follow physician orders and delegated nursing instructions with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills.
• Ability to assist residents safely and respond in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per orders and policies.
• Accurately document medications, refusals, holds, or discontinuations in MAR and systems.
• Monitor medication effectiveness and report adverse reactions to the nurse or supervisor.
• Maintain medication inventory, storage, counting, ordering, and disposal.
• Ensure medications are stored securely and compliant with regulations.
• Conduct routine cart audits and controlled substance counts per policy.
• Communicate with residents, families, physicians, pharmacies, and teammates about medications.
• Assist with scheduling refills and coordinating pharmacy services.
• Observe health status changes and report to clinical staff.
• Support medication compliance while respecting rights and dignity.
