Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Capitola, CA is seeking a Medication Tech to assist residents with medications per physician orders and facility policies, re-order medications, keep the med room orderly, and ensure residents never run out of meds.

You will document in residents' charts, follow emergency protocols, transfer orders to MAR as directed by the licensed nurse, and support Care Associates while upholding privacy and dignity. Must have fingerprint card and be physically capable.

Qualifications

• Vitals familiarity and basic monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Pour and assist residents with medications according to physician orders and company policies.
• Re-order medications following company policies and procedures.
• Keep medication room and cart clean and orderly at all times.
• Ensure residents do not run out of medications at any time.
• Understand and follow all emergency protocols and respond to emergencies as directed and per community training.
• File appropriate paperwork in residents charts.
• Keep medication room, cart, cupboards, and records locked when not in use.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect; provide privacy during personal care.
• Make meaningful connections to contribute to residents' quality of life.
• Transfer orders to the MAR as directed by licensed nurse.
• Order medical supplies as directed by licensed nurse.
• Assist Care Associates as needed.
• Contribute information vital to the development and implementation of customized service plans.
• Review MARs after each cycle change.
• Assist with cost control by utilizing resources efficiently.
