Qualifications

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or LPN required.
  • Medical assistant experience preferred for three years.
  • Certification as Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or LPN necessary.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Medication Technician

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Medication Technician
  • Location: 3040 Salt Creek Ln. Arlington Heights, IL.
  • Full Time: 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday - Friday (8:30am-5pm)

General Summary:

Reporting to the assigned Clinical Supervisor, performs prescription refills and medication prior authorizations following designated protocols, under the supervision of the Physician (MD) and Registered Nurse (RN).

What you will need:

  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience as a Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Medical assistant for three years in a medical office with prescription refill/prior authorization experience preferred OR
  • Pharmacy Technician certification by a national exam or approved program is preferred OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with one year of experience in a medical office with prescription refill/prior authorization experience preferred

Current certification as Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or LPN

  • Medical Assistants: Certification from a recognized body or obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Pharmacy Technicians: Current Illinois license; CPhT certification within two years of licensure preferred; or active student in pharmacy school; or maintained active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license since January 1, 2008
  • LPNs: Currently licensed in Illinois

Certification: Current CPR certification required.

Experience: EMR experience preferred.
