Job summary

Bickford Senior Living in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to support resident care and administer daily medications with compassion and dignity. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour, with day and evening shifts available.

The role requires strict MAR adherence, Six Rights of medication administration, and proficient use of the eMAR system. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in the care of seniors.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to take additional training or education, which states may require.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal skills for effective communication.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to learn or use Bickford’s eMAR system.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure medications are given according to physician orders.
• Follow the Six rights of medication administration and Bickford policies.
• Utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise care by non-licensed team members as appropriate.
• Demonstrate Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ on shift.
