Job summary

Legacy Village of Taylorsville, managed by Western States Lodging & Management, seeks a dedicated Medication Technician / QMAP to support senior residents with medication administration, personal care, and daily wellness. Join a resident-centered team that values compassion and teamwork.

You will work under a Licensed Nurse, administer meds, assist with daily living, and document care while promoting dignity and independence for residents in a supportive community setting.

Qualifications

  • Current CNA or Caregiver Certification in the applicable state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a Certified Medication Technician program or QMAP training per state regulations.
  • 0–1 year of caregiving or senior living experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications as ordered by physicians under supervision.
  • Complete treatments and care tasks within training scope.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting independence.
  • Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff.
  • Accurately document medications, care provided, and responses.
  • Provide skin care and simple dressings for non-infected conditions.
  • Assist with transfers and other physical care needs as appropriate.
  • Offer companionship, emotional support, and compassionate care.
  • Maintain privacy and follow community safety standards.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, nurses, and staff to ensure quality care.

Western States Lodging and Management is looking for a Medication Technician / QMAP to support our Senior Living residents with medication administration, personal care, and daily wellness needs. What You’ll Do
  • Administer medications as ordered by physicians and under the direction of a Licensed Nurse, including oral medications, inhalers, eye and ear drops, topical medications, and liquid or solid medications.

  • Complete treatments and care tasks within the scope of your training and authorization.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, bathing, grooming, and other needs while promoting independence and dignity.

  • Monitor residents and promptly report significant changes in condition or concerns to nursing staff.

  • Accurately document medication administration, services provided, and resident responses.

  • Provide skin care and change simple dressings for non-infected chronic or postoperative conditions.

  • Assist with transfers and other physical care needs as appropriate.

  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and compassionate care to residents.

  • Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, and rights at all times.

  • Follow all community standards for safety, sanitation, hygiene, appearance, and health.

  • Work closely with residents, families, visitors, nurses, and other associates to provide consistent, high-quality care.

  • Perform other reasonable duties delegated by a Licensed Nurse.

What Makes you Successful
  • Current CNA or Caregiver Certification in the state you are applying in (if applicable)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Completion of a Certified Medication Technician program, QMAP or equivalent medication training according to regulations in the state you are applying in.

  • 0–1 year of caregiving, medication administration, senior living, or related experience preferred.

  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and care procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow medication and care instructions.

  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to working with seniors.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, nurses, and coworkers.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work with elderly residents and support their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, and assisting with resident transfers.
