Job summary

Western States Lodging & Management in Utah is seeking a compassionate Medication Technician/QMAP to support seniors with medication administration, personal care, and daily wellness in a resident-centered setting.

You will document accurately, report changes to nursing staff, assist with activities of daily living, and work with a supportive team to protect residents’ dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Current CNA or Caregiver Certification in the applicable state.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of Certified Medication Technician (QMAP) or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in medication administration or caregiving.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications under nurse supervision according to protocols.
• Document medication administration and resident responses accurately.
• Monitor health status and report changes to nursing staff promptly.

Western States Lodging & Management is looking for an experienced Medication Technician/ QMAP to support our Senior Living residents with medication administration, personal care, and daily wellness needs. What You’ll Do

• Administer medications to residents according to prescribed dosages, schedules, and established medication management protocols under the direction of a Licensed Nurse.
• Accurately document medication administration and resident responses.
• Assist in monitoring residents' health status and promptly report changes or concerns to nursing staff.
• Assist with medical equipment, supplies, and treatments as needed and within the scope of training and authorization.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, bathing, grooming, and other needs while promoting independence and dignity.
• Provide skin care and change simple dressings for non-infected chronic or postoperative conditions.
• Assist with transfers and other physical care needs as appropriate.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and compassionate care to residents.
• Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, and rights at all times.
• Follow all community standards for safety, sanitation, hygiene, appearance, and health.
• Work closely with residents, families, visitors, nurses, and other associates to provide consistent, high-quality care.

What Makes You Successful

• Current CNA or Caregiver Certification in the state where you are applying, if applicable
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Certified Medication Technician program, QMAP or equivalent medication training according to regulations in the state you are applying in.
• 1–3 years of experience in medication administration, caregiving, senior living, healthcare, or a related field
• Additional medication training or experience beyond entry-level requirements preferred
• Proficiency in medication administration techniques and adherence to medication management protocols
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration and documentation
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, nurses, and other healthcare team members
• Knowledge of infection control practices, safety procedures, and resident care standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the nursing team
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to working with seniors
• Willingness to work with elderly residents and support their physical, emotional, and social well-being
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, and assisting with resident transfers
