Job summary

MediLodge Grand Rapids Assisted Living is seeking a Medication Technician for 3rd shift. Coordinates and administers medications to assisted living residents, documents responses, and follows physicians’ orders to ensure safe, effective care.

Eligible candidates hold a state Medication Technician certification and CPR, with about one year of nursing experience preferred. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and patient safety in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Medication Technician certification in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year experience in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Administers medications and implements physicians’ orders promptly.
• Maintains accurate documentation of treatments and resident responses.
• Assists with orientation and training for staff as needed.
• Supports physicians with tests and procedures within scope of practice.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are clean, safe, and properly stored.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certification:

• Valid Medication Technician certification in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.

Experience

• One year experience in nursing preferred.

Essential Functions

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
• Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by Company, and local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
