Responsibilities
Assist with administration of medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and guidelines.
Prepare, document, and assist with medication administration accurately.
Monitor residents for side effects and adverse reactions and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
Assist with medication storage and inventory management, ensuring that medications are properly maintained and disposed of.
Collaborate with management and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
Educate families on medication assistance, management, and safety practices.
Maintain accurate and confidential records related to medication administration and resident health.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep abreast of best practices in medication management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Medication Administration or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication management, is a plus.
6 hour initial certificate along with two hour recertification if applicable is a must.
